This was the first grants award under our new thematic approach to provide a more measurable impact. The trustees were delighted to approve 59 grants totalling £310,000; with 31 grants to Regular beneficiaries for £215,000, 24 grants to other local charities for £82,000 and 4 grants to national charities for £13,000.  

During 2025 we awarded 184 grants totalling £957,000 (2024: £714,000 from 181 grants), an average of £5,201 (2024: £3,945). 

The Roger & Douglas Turner Charitable Trust primary aim is to award grants to registered charities that can demonstrate specific charitable work and public benefit in Birmingham, the 4 boroughs of the Black Country (Walsall, Sandwell, Wolverhampton & Dudley), Worcestershire and Herefordshire. Grant funding is provided to registered charities focusing on work in the following 6 thematic areas: Adults in need; Young people in need; Hospices; Mental health support; Poverty; and Environment and heritage.
